CITY TV Selects Mayoral Candidates Edited by John Stokes
Since it's inception in 1972, CITY TV has positioned itself as 'the people's television'. Known for journalistically presenting itself as inclusive and promoting fresh new ideas for Toronto, CITY has decided to reverse its position for the upcoming Toronto mayoral debates by excluding most of the candidates. Only three of thirty-eight candidates have been invited for the televised debate on October 22. While Miller, Pitfield and the new guy are all well-spoken contenders, there are several other candidates on the card with strong backgrounds and ideas. Candidates such as Glenn Coles, Rod Muir, Shaun Bruce, Mitch Gold and others are intelligent concerned citizens with well-researched viewpoints. While Dave Meslin's 'Who Runs This Town' invited all candidates to speak, CITY TV has decided that only three are worthy of your attention. Coincidentally, these three are the ones with the huge campaign expenditures. It appears that in this election, money matters more than ideas.
