New Anti-War federal political party seeks to challenge Conservatives

by Yves Lemieux

Alienated progressive federal Liberals, NDPers, members of the former Progressive Conservative Party, and others are consolidating a new political party. These political activists hope to recruit a full slate of 300 plus candidates in the next federal election. One of their spokespersons indicates that, "We hope to be ready to campaign in response to an anticipated non-confidence motion against Mr. Harper's dysfunctional policies. These policies include supporting America's apparent Wars in the Middle East for Oil, and ignoring Global Warming as a immediate survival threat not only to Canadians, but to humankind in general."

Garth Turner who is a Member of Parliament kicked out of the Conservative Party caucus for making critical statements against the Stephen Harper's apparent intentional Global Warming policies, has apparently further inspired the organizing efforts of this new "Common Front" political party.

The new political party embraces a refreshing human rights, social justice, a pro-peace and anti-war, and environmental protection policy platforms. The new party also seeks to replace "free trade" which is linked with worsening poverty and crime in Canadian cities, with a fair trade. The spokesperson of this new political party indicates that a rejuvenated 'fair trade' based economic policies would, "Protect Canadian jobs, along with Canada's independence from the U.S. Bush regime war-making political-military-industrial complex oriented agenda." The goal of the new party's platforms is to critically facilitate the affirmation of a people-oriented quality-of-living based economic development.

The new political party has even published a detailed book of their progressive vision, which contrasts with the apparent political hypocrisies of so-called Conservatives, Liberals, and Jack Layton's co-opted NDP.
