Quantuum theory could revolutionalize the economy scholar says Current global economic system is on self-destructive path that can be averted Compiled by Peter Tremblay
The global economic system is driven by 'capitalism'. The problem with that, is 'capitalism' is principally oriented around 'capital'; and not people. In the current global economic system, less than 1% of the world's population represented by elites, are engaged in a path of destruction against over 99% of the rest of the world population. Capitalism is a culture of violence, in which success is measured by cultivating attributes which are egotistical, selfish, hostile, callous and often racist, sexist, as well as barbaric. Chief Executive Officers (CEO's) and other influential rich individuals, control political systems, with those same attributes. The result is the worsening destruction of a vital social responsibility. An enlightened economic system would encourage individuals to constructively work together toward elevating the quality-of-living of society as a whole, which facilitates a nurturing milieu for the pursuit of quality-of-life objectives among all individuals. In a prospective non-capitalist system, leaders of any industry which is found to pollute the environment, would seek to co-operatively correct the problem for the welfare of humanity, or to find other ways of pursuing economic development objectives. Under 'capitalism', such industries try, instead, to bribe politicians, so that that they can continue to pursue venal greed-driven profits.
Quantuum theory inspires a view of the Economy as being much more than principally facilitating the commercial profit margins of the richest shareholders in Stock Exchanges and commodity markets. This rejuvenating way of viewing the economy is critically explored in the books Quantuum Economics: Wage Slavery or the Quality-of-Life? ISBN: 1894839609, Human Development and the Quality-of-Life, ISBN: 1897036353, and Capitalism is Not Democracy: Part I, ISBN: 1894934636. Yes, there is an alternative to capitalism, and it is not "communism," or socialism, which is just a form of "state capitalism", where state elites pursue exploitation. Capitalism is causing a system of worsening Global problems. These including cancer-causing pollutions and other environmental destructions including catastrophic "climate change" to widening economic disparities to political oppression. The less than 1% of the world's population which control Big Business enterprises, which include mass-media organizations, have created a propaganda system around capitalism. This propaganda system has been able to succesfully get much of the 99% of the rest of the world's population to label any opposition to capitalism, as by definition "totalitarian communism"/"socialism". As a result, criticizing capitalism has almost become like attacking 'motherhood'. It was Milton Friedman is his well circulated book entitled 'Capitalism and Freedom' who was able to help indoctrinate the "masses" with the view that capitalism complements democracy. Why do you think that there are so many corrupt politicians? More specifically, why is it, that politicians no matter who you vote for, allow things to get worse and worse, locally, and elsewhere? Why do politicians, for example, help support millions and billions of dollars into questionable corporate contracts and corporate tax benefits, which benefit a handful of individuals financially, while social programs are destroyed because of a reported "lack of money"? Why is it, in Canada, for example, the federal government racks of billions of dollars worth of government surpluses, while homelessness and a population of "working poor" grows, aboriginal and other communities also suffers, and vital urban municipal infrastructure declines? These problems occur as a result of the very nature of the system of capitalism, which societies have been "brainwashed" to accept as the only rational basis of economic development. Successful politicians who want to stay in power, whether it is in Canada, the U.S., Russia, South Africa, or Iraq, appreciates that capitalism has corrupted democracy. As a result of capitalism, societies in the industrialized West and the Third World pivot not on the responsible democratic principle of one person, one vote. Instead, governance in a capitalist system pivots on one dollar, one vote. So, in a capitalist system, the richer financially one is, the better is one's prospective representation in government. Correspondingly, in a capitalist system, the less rich one is, the less likely one will get any representation. So, if someone who is homeless or a part of the growing working poor, one can expect within the capitalist system, that politicians will do next to nothing to represent his or her interests.
The "quality" of societal representation is only worsening, as the so-called "middle class" shrinks, the ranks of the poor grows, and the effective control of society is being held by fewer and fewer people. This is the legacy of 'privatizations', along with government cut-backs in social programmes under "Globalization". This is not the promise of democracy. If we want better governance by politicians, then we as constituents in societies, must take leadership in the creation of a rejuvenated people-oriented economic system. Capital-ism needs to be replaced by some kind of People-ism. Such a rejuvenated economic system would seek to elevate the quality-of-living of all people, in an operating policy context which minimized social and environmental costs. In contrast, capitalism creates a system of societal decision-making which worsening leads to worsening social and environmental costs, by promoting a dysfunctional context of greed and oppression. So-called "Globalization" has only made the capitalist system all that less democratic. "Globalization" is sponsored by an elite-driven political-religious-military-industrial complex, which seeks to grab as much control of the world's resources for themselves. The campaign effort is being conducted under the "mantra" of 'privatization', 'free enterprise', and 'trade liberalization'. Capitalism is creating a massive social disintegration, as families and whole communities become jobless, or are driven to "wage slavery" in oppressive conditions of underemployment. The capitalist economic system must be replaced by a democratic-inspired economic system, in order for human beings, to avoid self-destruction, under the current path of capitalistocratic greed. Capitalism is a failed economic system for the overwhelming majority of the Earth's population. Capitalism destroys vital ecosystems and the social fabric of society, on which quality-of-living pivots. It also destroys democracy, in favour of the machinations of a dystopic political-religious-military-industrial complex. It is vital that activists, scholars, and other individuals who are concerned about a system of problems which capitalism is causing, begin to come together to discuss the replacement of capitalism with such a people-oriented system, which can also save our planet. Such a milieu for replacing the economic system, would critically rely on individuals within society as a whole, helping to elevate societal collective social and environmental consciousness, beyond selfish crass materialism, racism, and other such social malaise. It is simply not sufficiently constructive to protest about Globalization, without presenting a thoughtful alternative, which embraces human rights, social justice, environmental protection, national sovereignty, and other societal constitutional rights. The above-cited books present such alternatives, inspired by quantuum theory and by a context of Human Development. Make comments about this article in The Canadian Blog.
