Former UN Ambassador Speaks on Canadian Foreign Policy in Toronto Victoria University's annual Keith Davey Lecture presents Paul Heinbecker who has had a distinguished career by Traci Lawson
Mr. Heinbecke is a Former Ambassador and Permanent representative of Canada to the United Nations and currently the Director of the Centre for Global Relations, Governance and Policy at Wilfrid Laurier University, Distinguished Fellow of the Centre for International Governance Innovation. His distinguished career included posts in the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Canadian Embassy in Washington, and the UN. He also served as Chief Foreign Policy Advisor to Prime Minister Mulroney and represented Canada on various issues such as the Kosovo conflict, a state's responsibility to protect, and climate change. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Check out this lecture on March 29 at 4:30 p.m., in Isabel Bader Theatre, 93 Charles St. West, at Victoria University in the University of Toronto. The Keith Davey Lecture series was established by friends and colleagues, to honour Senator Davey, a 1949 Victoria College graduate, upon his retirement from the Senate. Professor John Kenneth Galbraith delivered the inaugural lecture, "The Social Left Today" on January 9, 1997.
