Chinese University Press book documents advances in Hong Kong Social Welfare
Edited by Paul Chen
The book entitled Advances in Social Welfare in Hong Kong edited by Daniel T. L. Shek et al. documents that in the new millennium, we are confronted with rapid changes in the social welfare field, including the changing subvention mode, greater emphasis on service quality and accountability, and the rising complexity of needs of different client groups. Colleagues in the social welfare field need to adjust and respond to these changes.
The unique feature of this book is that papers on BOTH social welfare services and research are included. There are papers on social welfare services in the new millennium, including family, youth, elderly, and rehabilitation services, social security, social welfare administration, and evaluation of social work practice. At the same time, papers documenting the latest research covering youth, family, elderly, self-help groups and supervision are also included.
