Federal Political Party supports National Aboriginal Day of Action across Canada by Barbara Wardlaw The First Peoples National Party of Canada (FPNP) is in full support of the National Day of Action taking place across Turtle Island throughout Canada on June 29th. This peaceful show of solidarity is a direct result of Resolution 55 passed at the Special Chiefs Assembly in Ottawa in December of 2006. It is the right of every citizen in every territory and region to exercise their right to demonstrate in public for social injustice. It is the right of every citizen to challenge the abuse of authority, and the abuses that continue to plague poverty and third world conditions for many of our people. It is the right and responsibility of every citizen to demand that Nation to Nation agreements are upheld, honored and maintained for the benefit of all. The First Peoples National Party of Canada has urged every able bodied citizen in every territory and region of Turtle Island and Canada to participate in the activities in your area. Do this for yourself, your families and for those that cannot. Make comments about this article in The Canadian Blog. |
