Tories say Canada's far right Conservative Party sought to misuse the Elections Act via laundering
Edited by Iain Mackenzie
Truro, NS - The Tory Progressive Canadian Party under leader Tracy Parsons says, "despite protestations that all was above board the new Conservative Party sought to misuse the Elections Act by laundering national advertising through constituency campaigns. A two fold benefit was the objective: advertising beyond the statutory funding limits of the National Party campaign while at the same time increasing Election Canada refunds to local Associations."
One local candidate termed the actions "scheming" and referred to the money deposited in a local account as "simply going in and out"." What began with a case against Elections Canada naming 34 Conservatives in a suit designed to obtain refunds has been reduced to two in what appears to be test cases.
The Harper Conservatives promised the Canadian electorate an accountable and transparent government. Elections Canada is holding the New Government of Canada accountable for its actions. Those at the constituency level have made it transparently clear that, having been led into the plot during the election, they are unprepared to argue what was done was in accordance with the act.
Already receiving millions from the public purse, greed overcame common sense. In this and other ways, though still focusing on calling the Liberal kettle black the new Con pot in 18 months is taking on a significantly darker hue than what was promised in Election 2006 campaign advertising.
The Progressive Canadian (PC) Party is a registered Federal Political Party comprised of progressive-conservative minded Canadian tories rebuilding from the roots of the former Progressive Conservative Party.
