Stephane Dion Liberals use political theatre to mislead Canadians on Security and Prosperity Partnership agenda

by Yvette Pelletier

  Stephane Dion

Stephan Dion.

According to a reported Press Release dated issued by the Office of the Opposition Leader Stephane Dion, titled "Prime Minister Stephen Harper Fails Canadians at Security and Prosperity Partnership Summit (SPP)", dated 21 August 2007, "The original spirit of the SPP was to strengthen Canada's national interest on security, trade, competitiveness, health, safety and the environment by working closely with our neighbours."

Mr. Dion then charges that the Stephen Harper minority government is somehow not apparently managing the "original intent" of the SPP.

Mr. Dion's apparent representation of the alleged "original intent" of the SPP appears to be some sort of fabricated political fiction. This apparent fabrication on the "original intent" of the SPP appears to be designed by Liberal Party elites to pull the wool over the eyes of Canadians. Indeed Canadians are committed to defending Canada as a strong and independent nation from reported U.S. Bush administration aspirations to convert Canada into a U.S. colony like larger sized Puerto Rico.

Unfortunately for Canadians, today's Liberal party is not that principled party of "national unity" which Pierre Elliot Trudeau championed toward the defence of Canada. Traditionally the federal Liberals have sought to defend Canada, as a socially progressive and independent society, that would be a role model for the rest of the world. However, it is apparent on the issue of the SPP, that former Prime Minister Paul Martin who signed away Canada through the SPP in 2005, (without bothering to inform Canada) has turned a once great Canadian institution into a clique of sell-outs, that conspire with their SPP-supporting principal donors, and against the very nationhood of Canada.

Mr. Dion and his confederates could be viewed to be acting analogous to thieves poised to rob a bank, who are also dressed as law enforcing cops.

The actualoriginal intent of the SPP, as presented by pseudo-intellectuals allied to the Bush administration, and the Conservative Party of Canada, including Preston Manning, Mike Harris, Brian Mulroney, and others, has always been the political, economic, and cultural assimilation of Canada into a "Fortress North America" controlled by a U.S. political-military-industrial complex. Mr. Dion's apparent charade on the well-documented anti-democratic North American Union (NAU) SPP agenda, is nothing sort of a betrayal of all the previous Liberal leaders from Sir Wilfrid Laurier, to Nobel Peace Prize winner Lester B. Pearson to Pierre Elliot Trudeau, to even Jean Chrétien, who all fought against all previous attempts to capture Canada as a colony for self-serving American elites.

Mr. Dion has presented himself as some sort of enthusiastic "Captain Canada" during the Liberal Leadership race, who would defend federal Liberal traditions from the likes of Americanized Canadian Michael Ignatieff, and the rather opportunistic ex-NDPer Bob Rae. Mr. Dion further constructed his "Captain Canada" presentation by obtaining the endorsement of former Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau's son Justin, and anti-Free Trade activist David Orchard, so-called nationalist Ken Dryden, and so-called Liberal idealist Gerald Kennedy. However, Mr. Dion as the alleged heir apparent to federal Liberal party traditions would reveal his true colours by his stance of apparent orchestrated mass-deception on the SPP. The fact that NONE of Mr. Dion's backers have challenged his apparent stance of mass-deception on the SPP, further exposes the post-Martin Liberals as a political party without any basic integrity.

Carlos Menem

Carlos Menem, Former President of Argentina.

Indeed, Mr. Dion's apparent charade is reminiscent of former Argentinean populist party President Carlos Menem, who pretended to be a poor radical farmer, against "American imperialism", in order to get votes. However, Mr. Menem after being elected immediately threw off his politically expedient progressive populist disguise, in favour of a slick businessman "re-incarnation" who would welcome exploitative American Big Business interests with open arms. In the process, farmers and other Argentineans who Mr. Menem originally pledged to defend, quickly became blindsided into the ranks of the poor and landless. It is apparent that this is the kind of integrity which permeates the post-Martin Liberals. Canadians who entrust the federal Liberals with their support, do so, toward the prospective destruction of their civic nationhood, and hopes for the fulfillment of an inspiring socially progressive vision of Canada.
