Stephen Harper seeks to manipulate timing of Throne Speech so that Opposition Parties do not respond in Prime Time Edited by John Stokes OTTAWA -The rumour circulated for weeks, but it is now confirmed: the minority Conservative government of Stephen Harper will unveil his much-awaited speech from the Throne. Le Devoir editors have reported that a hitch in this tradition aims to use the media, especially the television networks, to the benefit of government: the event will be presented so late that the critics' s opposition might not be all reported in time for the news. Three separate sources have confirmed to Le Devoir that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has decided to present the Throne Speech to 7:00 PM, four to five hours later than it is normally. English-speaking mass-media that are linked to a Conservative biased Media-Political-Industrial-Military complex, have sought to cover-up this information. The Harper’s governments has once again broken its campaign promise to renew democracy in Canada in the aftermath of the Liberal Sponsorship Scandal.
