CBC-TV exposes Oil companies paying scientists to manufacture propaganda against Global Warming

by Paul Chen

The U.S.-based Environmental Defense documents that in 1998, "Exxon devised a plan to stall action on global warming. The plan was outlined in an internal memo that promised, "Victory will be achieved when uncertainties in climate science become part of the conventional wisdom" for "average citizens" and 'the media.'"

The company would recruit and train new scientists who lack a "history of visibility in the climate debate" and develop materials depicting supporters of action to cut greenhouse gas emissions as "out of touch with reality."

CBC-TV in the Fifth Estate programme documentary entitled The Denial Machine exposes the trail of money from Oil industry interests and scientists who have sold-out humanity in the apparent pursuit of greed.

The Canadian National Newspaper seeks to raise over $100,000 in our current membership pledge drive, toward investigative news coverage on Global Warming.

We will not only seek to cover the worsening catastrophe, but we will also critically explore broad societal factors which have led to Global Warming, as well as fresh approaches toward the timely redressing of Global Warming.
