Tremblay’s Article on Demonic Consciousness: A Clarification

In an essay entitled “Global Warming Caused Fundamentally from a Negative Consciousness rather than Greenhouse Gases,” LINK. Peter Tremblay gives the impression that I support ideas about demonic powers that I do not.

Evidently drawing from a lecture I gave entitled “9/11 and Demonic Consciousness,” he correctly says that, in my view, “Global Warming in addition to 9/11 could be viewed to have been the manifestation of a demonic consciousness.”

Everything else Tremblay says, however, runs directly counter to my position -- as shown by my lecture (available at EMAIL LINK or by a chapter, “The Divine and the Demonic,” in my book Christian Faith and the Truth behind 9/11.

Drawing on ideas from someone named John Lash, Tremblay speaks of “demons from the sky.” By contrast, suggesting “a nonmythological way to understand [demonic] power,” I reject the idea of an individual demonic being of cosmic scope and the associated idea of a host of “demons.”

Whereas Tremblay speaks of “demonic consciousnesses” (in the plural) as constituting an “extraterrestrial presence on our planet,” I regard demonic consciousness as fully terrestrial---as a type of collective human consciousness that has emerged and become increasingly dominant since the rise of the warfare system some 10,000 years ago.

Demonic power, as I define it, is creaturely power insofar as it has two characteristics: It is diametrically opposed to divine purposes, and it is powerful enough to threaten those purposes. These two characteristics are possessed by modern human civilization, with its awesome technological powers.

With regard to 9/11, I propose that we think of it as a product of the collective consciousness of the elite class in the United States.

With regard to global warming, Tremblay says that it caused fundamentally by demonic consciousness, andnot greenhouse gases. I consider that a false antithesis. Global warming has been caused, as Al Gore and the IPCC have argued, by greenhouse gases. But the most fundamental reason why we have not been able to curtail the emissions of these gases, since learning about their destructive effects some 30 years ago, is the demonic nature of the collective consciousness of the global ruling class. It is motivated by purposes that make it blind to the danger or simply indifferent to it.

Tremblay believes that in order to deal with global warming and prevent further manufactured attacks, we need to divert extraterrestrial demons away from Earth. My own view is that we need a change in the collective consciousness of our fully terrestrial rulers. How to bring that about is, of course, another question.

Tremblay did not, I believe, mean to misrepresent my position. But because he did not make clear that my position is completely different from that of Lash and Tremblay himself, many readers, I feared, would assume that their views were also mine. Hence this clarification.
