North American Union agenda alert: Canada's Lost Future
John Halonen,
Oshawa Independent Editorialist
I am a proud Canadian, now in my retirement years, but as many other Canadians, I am wondering on the future of Canada with the current direction of our Federal Government. It is rather disturbing that my children may not have the same benefits as myself, and even more disturbing that they may have less. I was fortunate to have our parents experience warm climates during winter months and both my wife & myself have tried to follow their footsteps, but it was always really a feeling of pride to be Canadian, to know our roots respected others, and that our Government developed policies that were designed to protect Canadians first. The Health Care system is a prime example.
The SPP / NAU agreement agreed to by Harper and Martin has made Canada a non-player in the development of our own resources. Not only do we have to mimic rules established by others, we as Canadians have no say in our future. What may seem to be small changes, such as changing rules in the how drugs are administered in Canada, really are monumental. Canadians fought for these changes for decades upon decades, and now with a stroke of a pen our current Government has decided that is no longer valid. All of this with no input from Canadian citizens.
Today in the United States of America, there is an ongoing debate on the use of some plastic residues being used as they have been deemed harmful to our children. Canada has already indicated that these products should be banned, as have many other civilized countries. What is to happen in the future with our current Government indicating that there should be a standard in North America.
Are we to be ruled by corporate directions rather than our peoples?
For almost sixty five years I have lived in Ontario, and now James Bay, an area closer than all others to major population centres is unable to compete in developing an Ocean Port as the SPP has predetermined where it should be located. Free enterprise is no longer a possibility in Canada as the elite and major media sources in Canada are undercutting the majority of Canadian citizens by either non-reporting or ethical misstatements.
Most regrettably, I consider myself as having strong Conservative roots, yet today those in power, do not appear to be leading Canada for the majority of Canadians.
