| National Newspaper sponsors search for next Prime Minister of Canada by Peter Tremblay
According to Ottawa Citizen front page headline of 3 September 2008, "Harper best pick for PM, most say". CanWest Global's other owned newspaper, the National Post, echoes this headline. On 3 September 2008, the National Post headline exclaims "Harper Seen as Better Leader". Are you one of those Canadians who agrees with this proposition? Or, do you think that as a country, we could do a lot better. After all, critically acclaimed author and Canadian nationalist, Mel Hurtig, and other investigative researchers, link Stephen Harper to the worsening societal decline of Canada, and to a broad-based sell-out to largely U.S. corporations. This sell-out notably includes the Security and Prosperity Partnership North American (SPP-NAU) agenda. Mr. Harper within this agenda, has presided over the breakdown of Canada's vital social fabric, with indications from worsening homelessness and urban poverty in general; to the undermining of our universal public healthcare system; to the destruction of Canadian national institutions.
If you are a Canadian, who thinks that you would be a lot better custodian of our country as Prime Minister, we would like to hear from you. Send us your vision of Canada as a prospective Prime Minister, and that includes your credentials, and photo. You can even send us a sound file. Prepare your written editorial submission in the form of a succinct speech up to 900 words. Submissions are due not later than September 10, 2008. We plan to publish submissions as we receive them.
