| U.S. firm takes over another Canadian company with sale of Timothy's Edited by John Stokes
Toronto-based Timothy's Coffees, a Canadian institution, has been solf-off to corporate America. Vermont-based Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. said it has bought Timothy's wholesale segment for $165 million from Sun Capital Partners Inc., a U.S. based private-investment firm. The announcement immediately followed the sale of Timothy's 139 franchise retail locations, mainly in Ontario, to Bruegger's Enterprises Inc., operators of the United States' second largest bakery-café chain. Terms of that part of the deal were not disclosed. Sun Capital also owns the majority of Bruegger's. Submit your blog comment: LINK
