Canadian politics: When will the "working class" take over their own governance

by Gerry Masuda

Why don’t workers, who overwhelmingly outnumber the wealthy ruling class, govern Canada? The long exploited and abused aboriginals in South America have shown us the way. They have organized their numbers to take power and govern in their own interests.

Workers in Canada make up an overwhelming percentage of voters.

However, the majority of workers now vote for the traditional corporate sponsored and elite-supporting Conservative and Liberal parties, rather than the NDP.

Why?

A possible reason is Canadians have been led to believe that they live in a classless society where everyone is equal and have equal opportunities. We do not recognize that there is a wealthy 'ruling class' which control governments in their own self interests at the expense of We the People.

What is required is to develop a 'working class' consciousness, identity, pride and solidarity.

The 'elites' must ensure that the NDP is ineffective. This reduces the possibility of the NDP organizing all workers as the ‘working class’ and taking political power. The 'elites' ensure that the party is riddled with dissension and filled with Trojan Horses. The 'elites' arrange to have a small inner circle, rather than We the People, set the direction and priority of the Party. This prevents the NDP from rallying and organizing workers as a ‘working class’ by design of the Elites.
