| Government in Canada fails to redress basic human rights
It is interesting to see how Andy Scott New Brunswick MP and Minister of Indian Affairs along with the federal government sprang into action and in true federal fashion did very little to help the people of Kashechewan Ont. Everyone in this country deserves access to clean water. It is a basic fundamental need and right. It wasn't until the provincial government of Ontario stepped in and did something that the feds decided they had to act upon the situation. The people of New Brunswick are used to the feds doing very little. Take for example the Department of National Defence spraying 1.3 million litres of deadly dioxin and hexachorobenzene laced defoliants sprayed at CFB Gagetown from 1956 to 1984. The feds again are doing very little. Oh they will tell you all about their fact-finding mission which is merely a public relations exercise. Perhaps New Brunswickers will be as lucky and have the Premier of New Brunswick Bernard Lord step up to the plate and show his concerns for his constituents by demanding the federal government have a public inquiry. The only comment I have heard from Mr. Lord is that he will let the federal government handle the defoliant spraying situation. Mr. Lord you may want to give Dalton McGuinty a call.
