Kanye West, the 36 year old rapper, has been sentenced to two year’s probation for assaulting a photographer.

The alleged assault took place as Los Angeles International Airport. The rapper has pleaded no contest and maintains his innocence in the matter. However, the photographer, Daniel Ramos, claims that he suffered such serious injuries as a result of the assault that he is still taking medication.

He claims that his camera was grabbed by West and he was punched. He explained that he was just doing his job and was attacked with no good reason. He also claimed that he was worried about West retaliating after a TV interview in October where he said that he did not feel safe from the paparazzi but that they should remember that he was from Chicago, implying that this meant that they should be wary of dealing with him.

This is not the first time that West has been in trouble with the police over alleged assaults. In 2008 he was arrested for problems with photographers at LA International Airport and the case did not come to court after he agrees to pay for broken equipment and attend anger management classes.

Earlier this year he also reached a settlement with a man that he was accused of assaulting after a racial slur had been used when the man was arguing with Kim Kardashian, West’s girlfriend but no charges were filed.
