“For clean, shiny dishes, trust Cascade powder dishwater detergent” - You must have come across this claim many a times. The Cascade Dishwasher Detergent is very popular with people and is known to be effective in washing dishes. However, this particular product is known to contain very harmful chemicals which can lead to a range of health problems. These health problems could even be diseases as severe as cancer.

Although the label on this product does note that the gel contains chlorine bleach, more concerning are the ingredients that aren’t named. EWG is a non-profit organization public health and the environment. The research found that the detergent can cause serious health risks to people.

It found the detergent to be in regulatory violations and it may contain ingredients with potential for cancer; acute aquatic toxicity; chronic aquatic toxicity. Serious concerns observed with the Cascade Dishwasher Detergent include:
