Canada's new plastic money linked to bribery scandal



PERTH, AUSTRALIA (NEWS1130) - The company producing Canada's new plastic bills is in trouble overseas.  Note Printing Australia Limited has been charged with bribery of foreign public officials.

It relates to bribes supposedly paid to public officials in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam between 1999 and 2005 in order to secure banknote contracts.

The Australian Federal Police also charged a second company and six individuals.
