GoPro is Cutting Down its Hero Action Camera Lineup this April

GoPro is reportedly struggling to set a price for its Hero 4 cameras, which might be the reason why the company is having a hard time bouncing back from hype and popularity of the brand. During the last quarter of 2015, the California-based action camera maker has experienced very low and disappointing sales figures that resulted to the laying off of its workforce.

According to some recent reports, GoPro will discontinue the sales of some of its action cameras, including the GoPro Hero+, Hero+ LCD, and the regular Hero, in April. Only the Hero 4 Silver, Hero 4 Session, and Hero 4 Black will be available in the market. So, if you are thinking of purchasing one, the GoPro 4 is in stock at Harvey Norman. You may buy one at a highly competitive price and it's your perfect partner for all your outdoor activities.

Moreover, the latest GoPro camera is said to capture each moment you experience on a daily basis. It is the ideal companion for holiday season or any family activities you would have, as per Nicholas Woodman, the Chief Executive Officer of GoPro.

The first pricing made for the Hero 4 Session was a mistake, as admitted by the company. Initially, it was priced at $399, which was too pricey for the consumers. GoPro then decided to cut the cost down at $299 and eventually adjusted it to $199. Clearly, it was a misstep for the company. Nevertheless, it still hopes that this product will save them and gain more potential buyers.

GoPro Hero 4 Session does not include 4K recording features and an LCD screen, unlike the Hero 4 Silver. This is  one of the main reasons why the sales got truly disappointing, for Hero 4 Session is priced as the same with the more powerful camera of the company, the Hero 4 Silver. As a result, this circumstance led the company to lower its price.

Apparently, this move does not ensure any good feedback from the consumers. It might just be too late to do the price adjustment, but it can somehow help to increasing its sales in the long run. In addition, there are no confirmations yet from the company regarding the forthcoming Hero 5. This upcoming camera is rumored to arrive this year together with the Karma drone that is expected to record 4K video footage.

Little by little, the action camera company is releasing some information about the Karma drone. Nonetheless, everything still seems to be a secret for now. Everyone should simply wait for the formal announcement of the company regarding this new quadcopter.

As a whole, GoPro is in need of better sales to get back on track. It will take time for it to recover from its big loss for the past quarter, but everybody is still being positive about it – that sooner or later, it will gain popularity again. The company simply needs more push to provide its consumers a yet again appealing and top-notch product. Also, if it has effective strategies to counteract such decline, it will eventually be back at the game field.
