Wheat Grass: The Food Leading The Cancer Fight

Wheatgrass has been actually boring its way as an increasing cure for a variety of ailments including fighting cancer. It actually paves way into cancer cells in an envelope of oxygen which kills cancer cells. According to a study on wheatgrass published in International journal of chemical studies, owing to its pigment, chlorophyll which has a similarity to molecular structure of hemoglobin, it can increase the production of hemoglobin, increasing oxygen to cancer cells and since wheatgrass is 70 percent chlorophyll, it can fight cancer in a more potent way. It has been said that if oxygen is a bullet in fighting cancer, wheatgrass is a mine blast. Wheatgrass is alkaline and also contains selenium and laetrile which have cancer fighting properties too.

Reportedly wheatgrass contains several antioxidants like B12. Selenium, abscisic acid, superoxide dismutase, cytochrome oxidase etc. the enzyme Superoxide dismutase converts reactive oxygen species which is one of the most dangerous free radicals, into hydrogen peroxide molecule and an extra oxygen molecule which kills cancer cells. Cytochrome oxidase is an enzyme whose destruction pushes the cell towards cancerous destruction.  But the true cancer fighting potential comes from the chlorophyll part. In a study reported in the journal of Mutation Research, which compared the anticancer effect of chlorophyll to antioxidants like beta-carotene, and vitamins A, C and E, chlorophyll was established to be a more competent antimutagen than any of the above since chlorophyll has the ability to cut down and break carbon dioxide and release up free oxygen.

Abscisic acid has been researched by many. Among them, Dr. Livingston Wheeler has determined that abscisic acid neutralizes the effect of chorionic gonadotropin, HCG, which is the hormone that protects the fetus from being discarded from the body and is close to Vitamin A. Livingston-Wheeler has reportedly discovered that cancer cells produce a substance very similar to HCG.

Wheatgrass helps in kicking off anemia, boost immunity by developing more cells that fight any foreign change in the body.

There are so many ways to have wheatgrass. One of it is to have it immediately after cutting and extracting its juice. it has also been discovered that abscisic acid is at its most potent state about four hours after cutting. Both the ways have proved the desired results.

When getting wheatgrass one should note the added diet one takes. Less chlorine in tap water, exclusion of all meat, dairy and processed foods and intake of more raw fruits and vegetables including sprouts may help in the work of wheat grass’s fight against cancer more.

The Wheatgrass Diet has been developed by a Boston resident, Ann Wigmore, founder of the Hippocrates Health Institute which has been later renamed the Ann Wigmore Institute.
