Not very long ago, American leaders, officials and their media made a big issue of espionage by Edward Snowden, a former Central Intelligence Agency technical worker, who is the source of one of the worst information leaks in US history- now exposing all secret spying by the Americans over European rulers  Materials provided by Snowden to the media allege the US has conducted widespread and illegal surveillance of its citizens and other nations.

Spotlight alerts that Americans have spied n almost every world leader who matters. The spy issue has almost sidelined many important issue like the explosive US state shutdown and  financial crisis of  USA.

History of spying in fact begins with USA that has got strong network of spies  globally. It was thought Americans undertake spying operations only on Russians and Chinese.  But the many striking revelations of US spy-rings around Germany has sent  danger signals to  the conduct of international relations.

Regimes spy, both on foes and friends. But US spies focus on close allies like Germany, France and Spain. in the realm of international electronic espionage, the US wields a nuclear arsenal while the rest of the globe fights with guns.The computers used by the delegates even at the UN have reportedly been under US surveillance, as has the mobile phone of German Chancellor Angela Merkel. And the US National Security Agency has monitored millions of French telephone calls,

USA has very tactfully used the European nations to promote American imperialism and colonialism. Besides, Europe has been told that they must side with Zionist criminal state in Mideast.

Upon Germany’s serious objections to US spying  pressure is growing on the White House to explain US intelligence gathering and why President Barack Obama appeared not to know the extent of operations. The president has spoken publicly of his intent to probe spying activities amid claims of eavesdropping on allies.

The intelligence agency head and other officials are to testify before the House of Representatives later. And the chair of the Senate's intelligence committee called for a "total review" of US spying programs.

An EU delegate in Washington has described the row over intelligence gathering as "a breakdown of trust".

US media tried  without success a theme that President Obama was not aware Chancellor Merkel's communications were being collected since 2002. But now facts suggest he was well aware and has in fact given “go ahead” signal. That is a big problem.

German media reported that the US had bugged German Chancellor Angela Merkel's phone for more than a decade - and that the surveillance only ended a few months ago.

The European delegation was reportedly unhappy with the "stock" responses from US officials on the issue. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is sending intelligence officials to Washington.

President Obama said that national security operations were being reassessed to make sure the National Security Agency's (NSA) growing technical spying capability was kept under control. Obama said that over the last several years is their capacities continue to develop and expand. White House spokesman Jay Carney earlier told reporters that the administration recognises there needs to be “additional constraints on how we gather and use intelligence". An across-the-board review of US intelligence resources is currently under way.

Neither Carney nor Obama have commented on specific allegations that the US eavesdropped on international allies, including tapping the phones of foreign officials. The head of the NSA, Gen Keith Alexander, and other experts are due to testify before the House of Representatives intelligence committee on 29th October .

Politicians in Congress of all stripes have been angered by the revelations of large scale intelligence gathering on both Americans and US allies. Senator Dianne Feinstein, the chair of the Senate intelligence panel, said that in light of the Merkel revelations, a review of all intelligence programs was necessary.

Earlier on Monday, representatives from the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs spoke to members of the US Congress about the alleged US spying on European leaders and citizens.

The allegations of US surveillance on international allies stem from documents leaked by fugitive ex-US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, now living in Russia. The US has had a "no spying pact", known as Five Eyes, with Britain since just after World War II, with Australia, New Zealand and Canada later joining.

Meanwhile, rumors indicate that the Obama regime is considering ending spying on allied heads of state.

In the name of war on terror and security  of America, the CIA has laid wide spy rings across the globe that gathered and  used the secret material to promote exclusive US interests globally.

As spy controversy continues to encircle the American surveillance program, Cryptome, the digital library host that was created by the US as a repository for secret documents and material, revealed that the CIA spied on 7.8 billion calls in Saudi Arabia, the maximum in Arab world and lesser cases in other Arab nations.  Maybe, USA spies even on its fascist terror ally Israel.

Observation

Perhaps, USA considers spying the birth right of Americans.  Just because of the current crisis, Americans are not going stop sying on world leaders. 

The question irking the international community is: can Americans  have the exclusive rights of spying other world leaders at will?

US spy operations  will have serious implications for bilateral and multilateral ties as well as future international relations.
