Wannabe: The Spice Girls Tribute
is an 11 member outfit that joins the talent of recent graduates of Humber Music and Ryerson Theatre programs in Toronto. This artistically diverse group (all in their 20's) came together with the objective to put on a show that is as close as possible to "the real thing", with live singing, choreography, costumes, accents and platform shoes, feeding a sense of nostalgia for Spice Girls fans.

The three founding members, Suzy Wilde, Anika Johnson and Barbara Johnston perform together regularly with their Toronto-based folk trio, Stonefox.

"Wannabe: The Spice Girls Tribute Band" will honour the fab five on January 14, 2012 with launch concert and dance party at the El Mocambo. The show features Barbara Johnston ("Ginger"), Catharine Merriam ("Baby"), Anika Johnston ("Sporty"), Janee Olivia ("Scary") and Suzy Wilde ("Posh") singing their greatest hits and backed by a stellar 6-piece band; 90's dance party to follow with DJ Tyler Johnston.

Door 9pm, show at 10. Advance tickets $15 available at Soundscapes (572 College Street), $17 at the door/ $15 with non-perishable food donation.
