Brought to you by CKCU-FM, Canada's first campus-based community radio station, Winter Fest is an all-day festival of music featuring live performances from various established, and up-and-coming recording artists, live visual art performed on location, a DJ battle featuring some of Ottawa's (and Canada's) hottest on the one's and two's, artist and management workshops with established recording artists and industry leaders, various fundraising activities, and much, much more!

Winter Fest and it's numerous partners believe in our city's local talent, and are sympathetic to the difficulties faced by many artists attempting to grow their fan bases and increase visibility; especially coming from a relatively small city such as Ottawa – which is although rich in culture and talent – is seldom recognized for its contribution to Canadian Music, and even less for its contribution to Canadian Hip Hop…

The concept behind Winter Fest is simple: to provide and foster an environment which will provide artists the opportunity to showcase their skills beyond their regular fan base.

In order to achieve this goal, the Winter Fest team and its artists have sought the support of various local and national music/art-related organizations, and with a diverse yet inclusive programme of performers and presenters, Winter Fest has effectively become one of the fastest growing music festivals in Ottawa and its surrounding areas.

That being said, despite countless hours of work, amazingly generous sponsorships, and the heart and soul, (and lost sleep) of its organizers, Winter Fest can't happen without the most crucial element: participation and support from you-the public.
