Cory Monteith: Canadian Glee star dead from overdoses







Canadian Cory Monteith who stars in Glee a hit TV musical comedy was found dead on Saturday. The 31 year old that played Fin Hudson in the Fox TV hit died from a heroin and alcohol overdosein a Vancouver hotel room. Monteith who had been staring in the musical comedy since 2009 had gone for a drug addiction treatment in April.

 

According to Fox TV officials, Monteith was an exceptional talent.

 

“There is nothing to suggest that Mr. Monteith death was anything else than a tragic accident.” This was a statement from the coroner’s office. From what it said, a mixture of drug toxicity that included heroin and alcohol caused the death as determined by a post mortem examination.

 

A video footage and other evidence shows that Monteith went back to his room all by himself after being with other people. Therefore it was concluded that Mr. Monteith who had been staying at the city centre Pacific Rim Hotel was alone at the time of his death.He had stayed in the hotel for a week and on 13th July when he he did not show up for his check out at midday, an alarm was raised.

 

Monteith in an interview had frankly revealed that he had been struggling with addiction since he was a teenager and had gone for a drug abuse treatment at the age of 19. Later in an interview he said that he took anything and everything.

 

Lea Michele, Monteith’s girlfriend who played his opposite number Rachael Berry in Glee in a statement said that she loved Cory and supported him when he went in rehab last April.Monteith with others play a group of American secondary school misfits in Ohio who come together to form glee club in their pursuit of singing contest fame. Monteith who plays Hudson in the musical comedy is the school’s quarterback who after joining glee club faces alienation by his friends.Glee’s four series which are famous for melodic covers and celebrity cameo appearances, featured celebrities like Britney Spears, Gwyneth Paltrow and Neil Patrick Harris as guests.

 

Tributes were led by singer Taylor Swift who dated Monteith briefly in 2010. She wrote on twitter on Sunday saying, “speechless, for the worst reasons.”

 

Rihanna tweeted,” Cory Monteith may you fly with angles and may your spirit be at peace. Its heartbreaking and my prayers are with his loved ones.”

 

“Rest in peace Cory Monteith. Sad very very sad.” Veteran actress Mia Farrow added.

 

His Glee co-stars joined the tributes.

 

Neil Patrick Harris who won an Emmy for his guest role on Glee wrote, “It’s very sad to learn about Cory Monteith’s death. What a shame. Such a lovely, kind, talented guy will be missed.”

 

Fellow guest star, Kristin Chenoweth wrote, “RIP Cory Monteith. You will be loved, always.”
