Canada in general and Novas Scotia in particular is a hotspot for UFO and alien activity. Over the years, the total number of UFO and alien sightings has doubled in the country. Most witnesses report their sightings to organizations like MUFON while others tend to remain silent as they fear that they will be ridiculed.

Most UFO enthusiasts in North America are aware of the famous Shag Harbour UFO incident of 1967. This incident took place in the province of Nova Scotia on 4 Oct, 1967 and it is widely considered as equivalent to the Roswell UFO incident in terms of the amount of media attention it gained during that time and over the years.

On the night of October 4, 1967, at about 11:20 p.m. Atlantic Daylight Time, it was reported that something had crashed into the waters of Shag Harbour Nova Scotia . At least eleven people saw a low-flying lit object head towards the harbour. Multiple witnesses reported hearing a whistling sound "like a bomb," then a "whoosh," and finally a loud bang. The object was never officially identified, and was therefore referred to as an unidentified flying object (UFO) in Government of Canada documents. (Source: Wikipedia)

The Shag Harbour reports received extensive front page coverage in the Halifax Chronicle-Herald. The paper ran a headline story on October 7 titled, "Could Be Something Concrete in Shag Harbor UFO — RCAF."

Over the years, countless UFO sightings have been reported from the Shag Harbour area and other regions of the province of Nova Scotia. Recently, an UFO was captured on Google Earth in Nova Scotia in the month of August, 2015. It was a disk shaped object that was seen flying very low, over a couple of cars.

Why do you think UFO sightings are so common in Nova Scotia? Is there any alien base in the province?
