Merry Christmas With Gratifying Conviction

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your mind and with all your strength. (Mark 12.29:31) A good number of Christians by birth do not believe in Christianity or Jesus Christ yet gladly accept long holidays in the name of Christmas to make merry and enjoyment using individual yardsticks to measure the degree of entertainment.

Roman procurator of Judea, the final authority in the condemnation and execution of Jesus Christ had the impression that Caesar´s kingdom was under no threat from Jesus of Nazareth yet the Jews convinced Pilate to have Him executed on the ground that He claimed to be the king (John 19:12) Pilate asked "Shall I crucify your king?" The Jewish high priest answered "We have no king but Caesar". (John 19:15)

People of the book familiar with stories of brazen defiance of divine commandments with resultant severe punishments at different times do not seem to have learnt lessons from history. A few decades´ outstanding scientific technological achievements, affluence and attachment to luxury eclipses poverty, unprecedented human right violations, culture reminiscent of Prophet Lot´s populace sedating humanity placed in comfortable situations.

Many prophesies about establishment of the kingdom of God are yet to be fulfilled by Jesus Christ. Overwhelming Christian majority and Muslims believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ though different reasons are given by Christians and Muslims for His second coming. Looking at the overall prevalent gory situation in the world the argument that Jesus WILL return to earth, seems to gain ground amongst believers.

The Bible revelation that Jesus will not be accepted by the world second time just as He wasn´t accepted at His first coming. It is further mentioned that when He comes the second time, He won’t come announcing the Kingdom of God but as a Ruler to establish the Kingdom of God.

The passages in the Bible make it clear that the world will not receive Christ with open arms when He comes back. "This is the other side of the picture of Jesus that is not taught very much today. When He returns, He will meet with a hostile reception from the world; just as He did the first time". The Divine ordainment of miraculous birth, raising the dead, healing lepers, blind and people with other ailments by Jesus Christ are duly recognized by Christianity and Islam.

On the contrary, Islam gives a different perspective of Jesus coming saying that His second coming will only be to testify that in His first coming He preached worshipping of ONE GOD ONLY. As He had emphatically stressed that He hasn´t come to say anything new but to establish the fulfillment of commandments of God of Moses. A Muslim cannot be a Muslim if he or she does not believe in Jesus Christ as He is known to Islam as the mighty messenger of God Almighty.

A majority modern day Muslims throughout the world misunderstanding the message also do not offer a rosy picture as they are divided into sects and sub-sects complicating a simple message of being good human beings. The concept of clergy in Islam does not exist yet the minds of people are controlled by a few who succeed in establishing a notion that it is only their prerogative to learn and understand religious scriptures.

Jesus, as mentioned in the Bible, said that the COMFORTER is to come to deliver the new message to establish the Kingdom of God. The Comforter is differently identified by Christianity and Islam. Christians believe that Jesus promised His disciples that after His departure the Holy Spirit (Comforter) will come in His place with new message. Muslims believe that Jesus was referring to none else but Prophet Muhammad who as prophesied would come to establish the Kingdom of God.

The Messages have mostly been misunderstood like when Jesus answered His disciples, "I tell you the truth; you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. (John 6:26) Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you". (John 6:27) Here Jesus appears to convey the message that the food for eternal living is spirituality attained through piety and good living standards.

The movement denying the existence of God under serious threat, it seems, multiplies the number of agnostics many fold as resources available are expended to promote newly invented religion generally referred to as ´Atheists and Humanists´. The Divine books are rife with stories about God´s Prophets targeted at different times and blamed for all the evils in the society though the message handed down was only to stay away from mischief on the land and become good human beings. Certain people´s claims to walk on water, baptize people, audience receptive to staged managed healing miracles give rise to false prophets the likes of Philly Jesus of Philadelphia who was finally arrested by police for being a drug addict.

Christmas holidays include music, caroling, exchange of cards, special meals, Christmas trees decorated with colorful lights and Santa Claus being at the center stage of the celebrations of Christmas as the idea is connected with children´s happy moments to receive gifts etc. The whole activity generates a heightened economic activity almost throughout the world. The billions involved has made Christmas a money spinning machine. Churches are deserted but clubs, pubs and entertainment centers are busy doing a roaring business.

A 1500 year old Bible found in Turkey lying in the Ethnography Museum of Ankara, as reported, was seized from a gang smuggling antiquities and illegal excavations. The said Bible is valued at about US $ 28 million. According to reports religious authorities insist that the book written in Aramaic, the language of Jesus Christ, written in gold letters is original. The book claims that Jesus Christ was not crucified and that Judas Iscariot was crucified instead. It is also reported that the Vatican has asked Turkish authorities to let them examine the contents of the Bible in question.

Whatever the historicity about Jesus regarding crucifixion; His Heavenly resurrection, Divine powers, miraculous birth and His second coming are accepted as factuality by Christianity and Islam without having any shadow of doubt. People should be free to believe what they want to believe, a principle accepted by one and all in today´s world but having so much of knowledge and information available some people out there still want to force their will on others without realizing that it can only be counter-productive and perilous for the entire humanity.
