On 22 March, a very interesting group of photos of the surface of Mars was released by NASA. In the opinion of many ufologists, these images show what they described as “a lizard crawling” on NASA rover Curiosity.

According to an article published on British online newspaper The Express, “alien chasers are claiming a major coup in their quest for life on Mars amid claims new NASA photographs show a lizard-like creature that scrambled across the Curiosity rover”.

The British source quoted famous ufologist Scott C. Waring, of UFO Sightings Daily, who said: “This little lizard was holding on for dear life on the Mars Curiosity rover's camera”.

“The animal looks a lot like a lizard with a tall fin back, much like one type of dinosaurs here on Earth... just much smaller”, Mr Waring stated.

He also expressed that the series of pictures show how the alleged alien creature changed its position. “The photo of before and after is about 10 minutes apart so it is enough time for the animal to have crawled to a new location on the other side of the camera arm”, he affirmed.

The American UFO hunter, who is currently living in Taiwan, added that, for him, this is another real evidence of intelligent extraterrestrial life. “This is 100 per cent real proof that alien life, albeit small, does exist on Mars; and at the moment, exists on the Mars rover”, he expressed.

However, some scientists and even some fellow ufologists disagree with Mr Waring. According to The Express, “they argue it is just an optical illusion, and it is a rock below the rover”.

For example, Scott Brando, of Ufoofinterest.org, just said: “all I see is a rock”.

These people believe that this sighting could be related to a psychological phenomenon called pareidolia. “They say it is the effects of pareidolia, which is a phenomenon when the brain tricks the eyes into seeing familiar objects or shapes in textures or patterns such as a rock surface or clouds”, the British newspaper stated.

ALIEN chasers are claiming a major coup in their quest for life on Mars amid claims new NASA photographs show a lizard-like creature that scrambled across the Curiosity rover.

Website ufosightingsdaily.com posted images taken by the Curiosity rover droid which is exploring the Red Planet, taking pictures for NASA and beaming them back to Earth.

In an article entitled "Lizard Crawling On @NASA Mars Rover This Week, March 2017," the website's editor Scott C Waring, said: "This little lizard was holding on for dear life on the Mars Curiosity rover's camera.

"The animal looks a lot like a lizard with a tall fin back... much like one type of dinosaurs here on Earth... just much smaller.”

He claimed in another image taken by the rover just 10 minutes later yesterday, showed the creature had jumped off.

He added: "The photo of before and after is about 10 minutes apart so it is enough time for the animal to have crawled to a new location on the other side of the camera arm.

"This is 100 per cent real proof that alien life, albeit small...does exist on Mars...and at the moment...exists on the Mars rover."

But, sceptics are not convinced.

They argue it is just an optical illusion, and it is a rock below the rover.

They say it is the effects of pareidolia, which is a phenomenon when the brain tricks the eyes into seeing familiar objects or shapes in textures or patterns such as a rock surface or clouds.

Hoax-buster Scott Brando, who runs debunking website ufoofinterest.org, said: "All I see is a rock."
