John McCain Suggests Obamacare's Replacement Will Fail

During an interview Sunday, July 9, on CBS News’Face the Nation’, Arizona Senator John McCain (R) said that he was pretty sure the Senate’s health care bill was “probably going to be dead.”

Congress returns from 4th of July recess on Monday, July 10, and the senator predicted that the Republican will not have enough votes to pass the health care proposal, which would leave 22 million more people without health insurance.

“My view is that it’s probably going to be dead,” McCain said. “But I’ve been wrong. I thought I’d be president of the United States. But I fear that it’s going to fail.”

However, McCain did suggest working with the Democrats on a new bill.

“It doesn’t mean they control it,” McCain said of the Democrats. “It means they can have amendments considered. And even when they lose, then they’re part of the process. That’s what Democracy is supposed to be all about.”

That Sunday, President Donald Trump also pointed out in a tweet that Republicans have been promising voters repeal and replace for years.

“For years, even as a "civilian," I listened as Republicans pushed the Repeal and Replace of ObamaCare. Now they finally have their chance!” Trump wrote.
