Alien Abduction Day Originates From Toronto

Date: 20 March, 2017.

Place: Toronto, Province of Ontario, Canada.

Since 2008, a very special event takes place every 20 March in the Canadian city of Toronto. A toy company called Happy Worker selected this day to organise an Alien Abduction Festival, which started, as it was mentioned before, in 2008.

However, this year, the 20 March became even more relevant: it was declared National Abductions Day.

According to New York-based online news site Heavy.com, the Alien Abduction Festival was created to “celebrate all things extraterrestrial and Sci-Fi, for alien fanatics and creative types alike”.

Heavy.com also quoted a Happy Worker’s official website statement on this event. “Despite our extensive research, we don’t know who created the day or for what specific purpose”, it says. “But we assume it’s the special day chosen by our alien overlords themselves. Every year on 20 March they swoop down and select lucky humans from around the globe for a personal tour of their spaceships, along with the unique opportunity to take part in various exciting testing procedures”, Happy Worker’s website stated.

The company also gave details about the main purpose of the Alien Abduction Festival. “It’s a good excuse to share some light-hearted, geeky and creative fun. We’ve joined with some great spots in our neighbourhood to share a wide variety of ‘alieny’ fun for everyone… human and ETs-alike”.

“There’s extraterrestrial arts and crafts with alien, UFO and tin foil hat making, bizarre eats, funky music, and a grab bag o' fun like random alien abductions, UFO rides, and crop circles, and other spacey strangeness”, the company’s site explains.

However, in spite of the good intentions of the organisers, some people have shown their disagreement with the event. In reference to this, Happy Worker declared: “we appreciate that for some members of the extraterrestrial community, abductions are considered a serious matter. Some feel it should not be approached in an entertaining way. Please understand that we are not attempting to poke fun at these concerns or at abduction events”.

Happy Worker also offers a gallery of pictures and other media resource related to extraterrestrial life on its website, for those who cannot attend the event in Toronto.

Draw your own conclusions…
