U.S. Acquisition of Six Canadian Companies Could Put Data Into Homeland Security Control



Access, the largest privately-held records and information management (RIM) services provider in the United States, on 17 May 2018 announced a major expansion into Canada, with the acquisition of six Canadian records management companies.  With these acquisitions, Access expands its operations in North America with locations in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, St. John’s and Saint John, servicing more than 20 key markets across 10 Canadian provinces.

As a result, more Canadian data could be now under U.S. Homeland Security Control.

Access Information Management of Canada, ULC has acquired these records management businesses: BCRM Services Ltd. (Vancouver); Calgary Archives Corp. (Calgary); Crown Store-All Facilities, SecureShred and Crown Filing Systems which were all divisions of Crown Enterprises Ltd. (Regina and Saskatoon); Phoenix Recycling Inc. (Winnipeg); FileBank Record Centre Ltd. (Toronto and Ottawa); and Docu Guard Ltd. (Atlantic Canada). For the past couple of years, these businesses have been operating together as Innovative Records Systems Corporation.
