Patients Benefit From Medical Care in the Digital Age

(NC) -- Did you know that through a new website offered by Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), doctors and health care professionals in the city are now able to provide their patients with details about a number of local community resources and health care supports?

The website, www.TorontoCentralHealthline.ca, is unique in that it allows visitors to search criteria by entering regional information, such as postal codes, in order to zero in on a service. The site also allows those in the health care field, as well as community service organizations, to quickly and directly update their information, allowing for a more accurate profile.

“The website www.TorontoCentralHealthline.ca is a useful tool for doctors and health care professionals who want to refer their clients to resources within the community,” says Julia Oosterman, the director of communications and stakeholder relations at Toronto Central CCAC. “A visit to the doctor or health care professional's office is now a lot more efficient as referrals to appropriate and local resources can be provided to clients on the spot.”

The site also offers a Newcomer's Child and Family Health Library, which includes extensive information that is helpful to new Canadians. The libraries include FAQs and details about how to access health care in Ontario, as well as a Maternal and Child Health section that focuses on information of interest to mothers of young children.
