Fukushima cripples American children

Fukushima meltdown has not only caused severe damages to the children born in Japan but its outcomes are faced even by the people living far and wide. The same incident which happened in Japan due to radioactive isotope blasted from the failure of the reactors has raised high health concerns for the children born in Hawaii and along the American West Coast. It has been predicted that if those children are not given proper treatment; their illness may prolong which could result into permanent physical and mental disorders.

It was noted that children born between one week and 16 weeks after the incident occurred in March 2011 were expected to suffer by 28 percent from congenital hypothyroidism as compare to the children who were born a year earlier. The severity of the incident was higher in states such as Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington than in other parts of the United States.
