TORONTO (WireService.ca)  -- Racial stereotypes, ethnic clichés and culture differences will be at the forefront on April 14 as the Markham Theatre For Performing Arts hosts one of Canada’s most entertaining multicultural comedic showcases, The Most RACES Show on Earth! (MRSOE!).

MRSOE! is stand-up comedy show that examines racial and ethnic differences through the lens of laughter. After selling out numerous venues in Canada and the U.S., Markham native and MRSOE! founder, Neil Bansil, will bring his show north of Steeles Ave. for first time.

“Although I now reside in the United States, my thoughts, views and opinions were shaped here in Canada,” says Bansil. “York Region is a great example Canada’s commitment to diversity. I grew up in Markham with friends of all different races and ethnicities. It was my experiences here that sparked the concept for the show.”

This show features six funny and edgy comedians from various ethnicities including Ben Mathai (Indo-Canadian), John Ki (Korean-Canadian), Keith Pedro (Filipino-Canadian), Mark DeBonis (Italian-Canadian), Ali Hassan (Pakistani-Canadian) and Bansil (Filipino-Canadian). Music will be provided by DJ J-Class.

“It’s going to be a fun night but more importantly the show will help us to better understand one another. The barriers between cultures cannot be easily dissolved; sometimes it's actually the shock value of a lot of the jokes that inspires people to start thinking. The more we realize our differences, the more we are the same because we all laugh at the same things,” says Bansil.

MRSOE! performs as part of a comedy fundraiser presented by the Taste of Asia, and benefiting three local organizations: Fiesta Canada, The Canadian Federation of Intercultural Friendship and the Philippine Heritage Band.

The Most RACES Show on Earth! takes place on Saturday April 14, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Markham Theatre for Performing Arts. Tickets are $25.00; $20.00 for groups of six or more.
