The most common benefits in relation to having sex include a glowing skin and a form of exercising. However, there are a number of other benefits, some of which may surprise you.

Glowing Skin

With the benefit of a glowing skin, you might want to get rid of all your face serums. Sex is a form of physical exercise, this means that your blood circulation will be increased, and your blood gets oxygenated. The end result? A glowing skin, but that’s not all, if you get an organism, your body will release “mood-enhancing” hormones such as endorphins that will give you a new lease in life. In addition, a growth hormone, DHEA is released that helps heal damage and results in a healthier looking skin for you.

Stress relief

“Sex has that magical quality of bringing you into the moment, especially at orgasm, which is a period of time that feels like animated suspension, where your mind and body both go off-grid” says Patti Britton, PhD, author of The Art of Sex Coaching. According to a Scottish study, people who were engaged in sexual activity had lower stress levels as compared to their counterparts especially when faced with stressful situations.

A stronger Immune System

Say bye-bye to colds, flu and the rest with a healthy shot of sex! According to a study that was carried out at Wilkes University, people who engaged in sexual activities once or twice a week had high levels of an antibody called immunoglobulin that kept their bodies immune to common infections.

Having sleepless nights? A dose of sex could soon lure you to that much-needed sleep. Research indicates that the hormone (oxytocin) that is released during organism helps put you in a relaxed mode that makes you doze off faster.

Deeper Intimacy equals stronger relationships

Ever wondered where that desire to cuddle and hold each other came from? Well, wonder no more, oxytocin which is referred to as the “love hormone” is the culprit. Fifty-nine coupled took part in a study at the University of North Carolina as well as the University of Pittsburg. The result? Those that showed more loving physical contact with their partners were found to have high levels of oxytocin.

Fast Relief from aches and Pains

Have a migraine, or going through your PMS symptoms? A healthy dose of sex will soon relieve that pain you’re in. Endorphins are your body’s painkillers that are released by oxytocin.
