NBA Draft: Wiggins Heads List of Best Potential Picks Looking Ahead to 2014

There is no real downside to the Cleveland Cavaliers getting the top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, as they now have the option of selecting the top-ranked prospect on their board or trading away the pick as part of a package to add some immediate veteran help. The one thing that has kept the skeptics that use www.lowvig.ag talking about how unlucky the Cavaliers are is that this year’s NBA Draft doesn’t have that one standout superstar at the top that no team can pass on. That can’t miss potential superstar will be available at No. 1 in the 2014 NBA Draft instead, as Andrew Wiggins plays out a full season at Kansas with the likely intention of being a one-and-done player that scouts already have tabbed to go No. 1 in next year’s draft.

Wiggins has the type of potential that will have general managers and coaches drooling, and maybe even convinced that the best way to build for the future is to tank now and try and get their hands on him in the draft. A native of Mississauga, Ontario in Canada, Wiggins already has Nike, Adidas, and Under Armor in a battle to sign him, and there will likely be a similar situation when it comes to his draft rights. That said, no team would be stupid enough to pass on such a talent, and that should make Wiggins a game-changing superstar for whichever team is fortunate enough to get the first-overall pick for the 2014 NBA Draft.

While the focus right now is on online horse betting, the baseball season, and even the upcoming 2013 NBA Draft, the potential talent that will be available next year has basetball fans talking about what could be. Wiggins will go No. 1, but the top-three is expected to be stacked with Julius Randle and Aaron Gordon going behind him. Randle is the 6’9’’ All-American that has a little bit of everything and can really be the difference as a big forward that can both attack the rim and play physical, or use his finesse game. Then there is Gordon, a Blake Griffin-like player that has the size and athleticism to do a little bit of everything as well. All three of these players has the potential to be a superstar and All-Star for years to come, and it will be interesting to see where they end up going.

Rounding out the top-five potential picks is Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart and Kentucky guard Andrew Harrison. Smart would have been a lottery pick had he entered this year’s NBA Draft, and the extra year of preparation will only boost his stock. Some felt he could have gone No. 1 had he declared for this year because of the relatively weak class, but the extra year in college will ultimately make him a better player. Meanwhile, Harrison will join John Calipari’s Wildcats after deciding he wanted to play with his brother this year, and his skill set also could have made him a No. 1 pick in any other class. Harrison has all of the skills to become an elite point guard, and his 6’5’’ size will make him a unique threat that could cause match up problems at the next level.
