Guests will be the winners now that Manoir Hovey has been voted the No. 1 country hotel in Canada.

Manoir Hovey, the renowned Relais & Châteaux in the Eastern Townships, is celebrating this recent accolade with an Instagram photo contest.

It’s easy to enter and the prize is a terrific two-night stay with all the trimmings of a posh hotel, plus gastronomic meals and transportation – a total value of at least $3,000.

One of two prestigious R&C in Quebec (along with Auberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec City), Manoir Hovey is a luxurious petite resort and historic property on the shore of Lake Massawippi with elaborate gardens, a heated swimming pool, a spa and handsome public rooms including the Pub and a library.

Manoir Hovey is especially known for gastronomy and country-elegant interiors by the team of John Hay & Hilary Webster. Many of the 37 rooms have lake views, with fireplaces, private balconies and/or whirlpool tubs.

Owned by the Stafford family for nearly 40 years,Manoir Hovey was named the No. 1 resort and/or inn in Canada in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2016, as well as No. 19 on the 100 Best Hotels in the World list. The readers rated their favourites on five characteristics: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.

To celebrate, Manoir Hovey is holding an Instagram photo contest and will give away a generous first prize of a two-night stay for two people in a luxury suite, including a transportation credit of up to $1,000.

The photo contest is #WorldsBestGetaway and the prize will include two nights with breakfast and dinner plus a private tour of some special Townships touristic happenings: Gregorian chanting at the Abbaye de St-Benoît-du-Lac; a tour and sampling of organic, sparkling wine at Domaine Bergeville; and a tasting of raw milk cheese at Fromagerie La Station.

Here’s how it works: Until Aug. 31, entrants (18 and over) can post photos on Instagram of their favourite activity as a couple, such as tennis, golf, hiking or dining. They must follow @ManoirHovey on Instagram and use #WorldsBestGetaway in the caption. On Sept. 14, Manoir Hovey will notify the winner via Instagram.
