Comets and meteors are considered natural phenomena, but still, when people see a falling star or a comet, they can easily get scared, even though this kind of unidentified flying object could be easily identified with a telescope or a high quality camera.

The comets and meteors often have a fiery tail and they disappear in a matter of minutes. They don’t change their colour or their trajectory as did the flying objects recently identified in Houston, Texas. On the morning of October 29^th “Mrs. D.” had just left the house to take her daughter to school when she looked up in the sky and saw the strange flying object that looked like a comet on fire. The comet or meteor had an impressive speed and a northern trajectory. The witness tried to measure the object by using her hands and approximated that the size of the object was about 4 inches: “The tail was quite long and measuring the tail by holding up my fingers to the object, it was about 4 inches,” she reported to MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network.  Mufon will try to analyze the tape that accompanied Mrs. D’s report to judge how far away the object was.  This will allow them to estimate the actual size.

What made Mrs. D. believe that this flying object was a comet or a meteor? “The shape of it,” she said, “it had a slightly rounded shape that looked just like a comet. The whole object was on fire. Comets usually catch fire or look like they are on fire when they enter the atmosphere.” Although the woman could not identify how far away the comet was, she could tell that the flying object made no sound at all. “My daughter and I stood and watched it for about 2 minutes and were joined by my 9 yr old daughter. “

The 15 year old daughter caught the whole incident on tape. After the woman returned from taking her daughters to school the comet/meteor was no longer visible from her house. She then called her husband who was on his way to work around 7:50 on I-10, but the man was not able to see anything on the sky: “My 15 yr old daughter had her phone and took a picture and videoed it as well.” She couldn’t tell if the object would show up on video or not, but assured her husband, “Will post video when she gets home from school.”

Because it made no sound the family speculated that the strange object was a UFO. A comet should have been announced in the news earlier. MUFON’s mission is to inform people of the possibility that aliens are visiting our planet.  They believe that their extensive database of sightings is proof.  If you ever see such an object flying in the sky, try to record the experience, and immediately inform MUFON.
