UFO: Washington witnesses say disc-shaped craft too big to miss

Two Whatcom County, WA, witnesses at Blaine report that a disc-shaped UFO was so large that there must be additional reports after observing the moving object hover and then dip behind a nearby tree line, according to January 29, 2014, testimony in Case 53788 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The two witnesses were at the back of their home leaning out a window smoking cigarettes at 11:10 p.m. on January 27, 2014, when the object was first seen.

"We saw a visibly solid object, disc-shaped, descend slowly from the northwest and stop," the reporting witness stated. "The object then became stationary. All the while we observed pulsating red, orange, yellow, reddish lights that were visible around the perimeter of the object. The lights pulsated as if in a cycle."

The object then appeared to stop and hover.

"We could tell it was stationary because the object held its outline against the tops of the trees without moving. The event occurred a short distance from our home which we observed directly across a field adjoining our property."

Shortly the object began to move away again slowly.

"It appeared to dip slightly and very slowly descended behind the trees and it was then no longer visible."

Then within just a few seconds the two noticed a helicopter move into the same area.

"We saw a helicopter (we think it was) since we often see helicopters flying over the area at night and are able to recognize these, flying quickly in the direction of the object. The helicopter had normal red flashing lights. This too disappeared behind the tree line."

Both witnesses are certain there must be additional sighting reports due to the size of the object.

"The object was so large we assume that there must be other reports since this is somewhat of an urban rural area and it just could not have been missed since it was so apparently clear in the sky. We were both amazed at this object and somewhat shocked to see this. My husband ran to our kitchen to get his iPhone in order to get a picture but the object did the slight dip and descended behind the tree line before we could pull up the camera app.

"We can't imagine that no one else would not have seen this."

Blaine is a city in Whatcom County, WA, population 4,684. Washington is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Washington had 10 reports in December 2013 - while California had 68 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.
