Almost three months ago, on 20 June, a very unusual event occurred in the small town of Fort McMurray, Canada. According to an anonymous report published on 16 September on UFO specialised website MUFON.com, an unidentified, “very bright” star-like object was seen moving across the sky.

“[I was] beginning [the] night shift at an oil sand production facility north of Ft. McMurray”, the unnamed witness stated, “[I] noticed a very bright 'planet' with equivalent or brighter magnitude to that of Venus”, he said. Nevertheless, he noticed that it could not be Venus, since “Venus is not visible at this time. Sundown is quite late at this latitude so it was visible early during sunset - perhaps 21:30H, which made it quite prominent in the western sky”.

“I proceeded to go about my duties until 23:00H, at which time I wanted to photograph the rare summer solstice full moon (the sky was very clear and calm, warm temperatures)”, he added. “I took 14-15 pictures of the full moon with an iPhone 6 camera; perhaps over a period of 30 - 45 seconds. By chance, I noticed the bright object had moved to the north (left) in between one frame, and remained stationary”, he commented.

The Canadian citizen also affirmed that when he saw the photos, he realised the object had changed its position. “After studying the sequence of shots, the object is moving vertically in the original position, and then moves over top of the moon after the 5th shot”, he expressed.

About the characteristics of the object, he stated: “Upon zooming in, it is quite apparent that it is bell-shaped in nature, has some type of hull detail resembling ports or equipment, and is emitting a blue/green plasma”.

“It was emitting a very very bright light that did not appear to vary in intensity or color, but did have an unusual 'colour' during the observation”, he asserted.

Finally, after about two hours, the alleged UFO went out of the witness’s view. “This object was visible for over 90 min - perhaps 2hrs, but I did not have time to study it because of the work we were doing”.

However, Venus is not visible at this time; sundown is quite late at this latitude so it was visible early during sunset - perhaps 2130H, which made it quite prominent in the western sky.

I proceeded to go about my duties until 2300H, at which time I wanted to photograph the rare summer solstice full moon (the sky was very clear and calm, warm temperatures).

I took 14-15 pictures of the full moon with an iPhone 6 camera; perhaps over a period of 30 seconds - 45 sec. By chance, I noticed the bright object had moved to the north (left) in between one frame, and remained stationary.

After studying the sequence of shots, the object is moving vertically in the original position, and then moves over top of the moon after the 5th shot.

Upon zooming in, it is quite apparent that it is bell-shaped in nature, has some type of hull detail resembling ports or equipment, and is emitting a blue/green plasma. It was emitting a very very bright light that did not appear to vary in intensity or color, but did have an unusual 'color' during the observation.

This object was visible for over 90 min - perhaps 2hrs, but I did not have time to study it because of the work we were doing. It did appear to be mis-placed as a celestial object.
