US Military Discloses Footage Of UFO Spotted By Fighter Jet Pilots
Date: 18 December, 2017.
Place: San Diego, State of California, United States.
A few days ago, US Department of Defence disclosed a very interesting video about a strange incident that occurred in 2004 a few miles off the coast of San Diego, California.
The footage shows two USAF F-18 jet fighters approaching a bright, unidentified craft which seemed to rotate.
According to an article published on British newspaper The Independent, “Commander David Fravor and Lieutenant Commander Jim Slaight were on a routine training mission 100 miles out into the Pacific when they were asked to investigate the object”.
“The object had been detected appearing suddenly at 80,000ft by the USS Princeton, a Naval cruiser, which had been tracking mysterious aircraft for two weeks”, the article states.
Mr Fravor, one of the pilots who witnessed the UFO, affirmed that “the object was about 40ft long, had no plumes, wings or rotors”, and surprisingly “outpaced” their F-18s. “I have no idea what I saw... It accelerated like nothing I’ve ever seen”, he claimed.
The incident was investigated by the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Programme (AATIP), a US government programme created in 2007 with the purpose of studying reports of UFOs in the United States. However, the programme was cancelled in 2012 and the incident still remains unanswered.
“The pilots’ Navy superiors did not investigate any further and it remains unclear what the object was”, says The Independent. “The Pentagon said the AATIP closed five years ago when defence officials shifted attention and funding to other priorities. But it was less clear about whether officials continue to investigate claimed UFO sightings”, it continues.
“It was determined that there were other higher priority issues that merited funding and it was in the best interest of the Department of Defence to make a change”, explained Ms Laura Ochoa, Pentagon spokeswoman. “The Department of Defence takes seriously all threats and potential threats to our people, our assets, and our mission and takes action whenever credible information is developed”, she added.
