Michael Jackson’s children face challenges

During the preparation for the comeback tour, Michael Jackson feared too much for his life that he did not live long enough to even take the tour.

The 16 year old Prince Jackson the late Michael Jackson’s oldest son recently testified in court saying that, although he was only 12 at the time when his father died in 2009, Michael confided in him from time to time. This was according to CNN.

“He would cry after getting off the phone,” Prince said. This is what Prince said on his testimony during his family’s lawsuit in which they accused concert promoter AEG Live of wrongful death. “They are going to kill me; they’re going to kill me.”He would say.

Prince gave an explanation saying that, Michael Jackson was referring to Randy Philips, the AEG Live CEO and his ex manager Dr. Tohme Tohme.

The late Michael Jackson’s son also testified that the night before his father died, he witnessed a tense confrontation between Phillips and Dr. Conrad Murray who was convicted of manslaughter in Michael Jackson’s death. On that night of June 25th they had an argument about an overdose of the anesthetic propofol. He could see Phillips grabbing Murray’s elbow though he could not hear what they were arguing about.

“It appeared aggressive to me” Prince said under oath. “They were really close while he grabbed him by the back of his elbow. He made hand motions.”

When being cross examined by AEG Live’s lead lawyer Marvin Putnam, Prince said that the incident might have taken place a night earlier before than what he had given in his first statement, but he affirmed what happened. According to a report by Associated Press, Prince testified that sometimes they would be given Stacks of $100 bills with his sister by their father which they were meant to give to Murray. According to his understanding the payment was meant to be what the doctor had not been given by AEG Live. Prince said that Murray refused to take any funds from Michael.

Prince said that his last conversation with his father was over the phone when he called to notify him that Phillips was at their home. Michael at that time was at his final rehearsal for the tour and he instructed Prince to offer Phillips refreshments.

Prince said that on the day his father died he saw Murray perform CPR on Michael although on other occasions Michael received his treatments from Dr Murray behind closed doors. He said that on that day he died Michael was hanging off his bed and his eyes appeared to roll back into his bed.

Prince talked about his father’s life with the other siblings Paris and Blanket who was 11 years old. He said that the children only understood their father’s fame until they watched a video of one of his concerts and saw fans being taken away on stretchers after too much excitement. He also showed a few family photos and video.

Although we listened to his music we never knew how famous my father was” Prince said.

Prince said that it has been four years since Michael died but his children still suffers their father’s death. Michael’s daughter is undergoing psychiatric treatment at the UCLA after a suicide attempt although she is expected to appear in the trial to testify.

“Out of all my siblings Paris got hit the most because she was dad’s princess. In preparation for the trial in March, she struggled to cope with AEG Live lawyers’ questions.” He said

“I have difficulties getting sleep at night” He confessed.

He said that as a result of his father’s death he became emotionally distant from other people. He missed sharing milestones like being able to drive, First day of going back to school and having first girlfriend with his father.

“Blanket still does not realize what he lost because he was too young at that time and he is the only one of the three children that still celebrates his birthday. He doesn't have a father to guide him while he is growing up, just like me” Prince explained.
