Oscars 2016: Black Stars Gatecrash Best Picture Nominees in Race Row Sketch

CHRIS Rock was joined by a host of stars at this year’s Oscars who poked fun at the lack of diversity in the ceremony with a series of hilarious spoofs.

Whoopi Goldberg, was one of the famous faces who made the A-list audience roar with laughter by diversifying some of this year's Best Film nominees.

The comedienne, 60, kicked off the round of skits by making an appearance in Joy - where she was seen mopping in the background as Jennifer Lawrence attempted to discuss her character’s miracle cleaning device.

She told the actress: ‘It’s not rocket science it’s a mop, just say something.“

She continued: “One day they will make a movie about a skinny white lady who invented a mop.

“Whilst a black girl would have to invent a cure for cancer, before they even gave her a Tv movie.”

She then grinned adding: “But hey I’m not mad – cos I know how to play the gay – Joy!”

The next skit saw Leonardo DiCaprio’s character in The Revenant being mauled by none other than Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones.

In the movie he is attacked by a bear, but it was the star who screamed at him: “There are no black actresses in this movie!”

She grimaced into his ear: “My agent called you twice, then I called you 16 times – you should have called me back!”

Tracy Morgan was next up taking on The Danish Girl and Eddie Redmayne’s cross dressing character.

Donning a silk nightdress and stroking his arm he said: “Look at me, a black thespian.”

He then greeted Alicia Vikander, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film, munching on a Danish pastry saying: “I’m a Danish Girl. These Danishes are good girl!”

Chris Rock finished up the clip as Matt Damon's character in The Martian - the stranded astronaut Mark Watney.

When he asked NASA for help getting off Mars, Jeff Daniels and Kristen Wiig debated whether or not it was worth "spending 2,500 white dollars to save one black astronaut."

The lack of diversity in the 2016 nominations has seen Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith and Spike Lee boycotting the ceremony.

Chris opened up the ceremony by branding Hollywood racist for refusing to nominate black talent.

He joked: The real question everyone wants to know is, 'Is Hollywood racist?' You gotta go at that at the right way. Is it burning cross racist? it's a different type of racist.

"You're damn right Hollywood's racist, but it's the racist we've become accustomed to.

"Things are changing. We got a black Rocky this year and that's an unbelievable statement because Rocky takes place in a world where white athletes are as good as black athletes.

"So Rocky's a science fiction movie. There are things that happen in Star Wars that are more believable than Rocky."
