There are certain things that can never be forgiven when perpetuated by an individual who is expected to know better. One of these things is a lawyer falsifying information in order to twist the path of justice.

About 2 years ago, the sad case of an elderly woman who was constantly being abused by her husband was given public attention. The general belief was that with such public attention, the woman would get the justice she deserved. However, that wasn’t the case as the lawyer hired by Dezrin’s husband decided to go to all lengths just to see to it that justice was distorted.

The lawyer, John Summers, went to extreme lengths when he filed a Statement of Defence against Raymond – the son of Dezrin. Raymond was at that time the only family person fighting to ensure that his mother was taken away from his abusive father. With such false claims of mental instability on the part of Raymond, John Summers was able to enforce the prevention of Raymond from even visiting his sick and completely immobile mother as a result of being forced to live with an abuser.

The straw that broke the camel’s back and illuminated John Summers’ disregard for human life was when he presented disinformation in a recent affidavit against Raymond. In his affidavit, John Summers claimed that Raymond had been blacklisted by an ambulance service. However, the truth later came out when the ambulance service denied it and it emerged that Raymond had on that fateful day met his mother on the floor and unable to breath.

John Summers had sought to twist an almost tragic event in which Raymond saved his Mother's life into a complete lie.

In fact, at The Canadian, we have reviewed a letter from Dezrin which she thanked her son for saving her life.

It was Raymond who  called 9-1-1 and an ambulance was dispatched to Raymond's parents home. It was also revealed that Raymond even stayed on the line for a very long time as he given instructions to help him revive his mother. The mother was therefore revived when the ambulance arrived to take her to the hospital, if needed.

The actions of the son was at that time praised by the mother as she claims that she doesn’t know what would have happened to her if her son had not been there at that very moment. However, this thoughtful deed of the son, alongside his father who did nothing to save his wife, is now being used against him by John Summers.

There are a lot of things that do not add up when one decides to take a closer look at some of the things John Summers is doing. One question that always comes to mind is “What does John Summers want to achieve with such wickedness to an elderly woman?"

It beats human understanding and imagination to realize that a professionally educated lawyer would do this to an elderly woman. What at all is happening to the law profession?

If these are the calibre of lawyers that are going to be churned out by the educational institutions then humanity should expect the unthinkable in some years to come. For someone who has sworn to uphold and defend the laws of the nation, it is very surprising to find the lengths that he is going to just to rob an old lady of the justice she seeks.
