Quebec student protester gets community service




 

Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, the prominent leader of the Quebec student revolt which gained international  attention and was responsible for fall of Jean Charest ‘government has been convicted of contempt of court and sentenced.


Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois, the 22 year old spokesman of student group CLASSE has been sentenced to 120 days of community service after he was found guilty by a judge of encouraging protesters to violate court orders during a televised interview in November this year .Justice Denis Jacques found Gabriel Nadeau-Dubois guilty of inciting protestors to violate the court orders.


One of the students of the University of Laval who had sought on injection filed a complaint against Nadeau-Dubois, which went to trail in September this year. He was found guilty and convicted. He raised more than $100,000 as donations to fight his case and defend himself.
