Harper government seeks free trade with Honduras



On Friday, 12 August 2011, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Porfirio Lobo, President of Honduras, announced the conclusion of negotiations on a free-trade agreement between Canada and Honduras.

The Conservative Party states: "Free trade with Honduras will open markets for Canadian businesses and create opportunities for Canadian workers."

"The Agreement benefits workers and employers across the country, in sectors such as agriculture and food processing, professional services, manufacturing, resources and commodities."
