Eiffel Tower under Terror Attack

There was an accidental explosion of fireworks around the Eiffel Tower when the truck that was transporting it had an incident. The people who were celebrating Bastille Day mistook it for a terror attack on Paris.

This comes days after Nice, France was attacked by a French-Tunisian who happened to drive a truck towards a crowd of people who were busy watching fireworks. The truck initially killed two people but still continued to move killing more people right and left. The death toll has so far risen to 84 as police are still trying to keep things and people in order. As for the driver, he was shot and killed outside a hotel and casino.

As for Paris, it was never on attack but still people quickly took to social media to report an attack which was actually ruled as false by police. They were quick to denounce the rumor via the same social media it was used to spread it as well as other news outlets that had reported the incident as a possible terror attack on France. "Don’t spread false rumors,” read a boldface tweet from the Prefecture de police. "No fire at the #TourEiffel. An accidental truck fire took place at Jena Bridge. It has been put out. "

So far the police have succeeded in their job as they should. But the power of the internet has once again proved to be harmful than ever as conspiracy web sites managed to seize the photos and videos of the event and misused them as evidence thus reporting that the whole country was actually under attack.

The country was not under any attack as fear and rumor mongering had taken charge of the people and made them to believe so. But who can blame them, this is a country that has experienced loads of terror attacks in past that is has become the new normal of the day to get the idea of any suspected attack whenever the chance rises. The structure itself is fine and was never even on fire in the first place.
