How antioxidants support anti-aging

What are antioxidants benefits? They're anti-aging foods that help you to look younger!

But that's not all. The benefits of antioxidants also include protecting you against some of the most painful and deadliest diseases.

For example, antioxidants benefits from anti-aging foods and good quality antioxidant longevity anti-aging supplements have been shown to:

-- Help you have healthy hair, nails and skin.

-- Lower your risk of both cancer and heart disease.

-- Slow down the aging process of skin and other organs.

-- Boost your immune system to resist colds, flues and viruses.

-- Support healthy vision by protecting you from aging eye diseases.

What are Antioxidants and How do they Work??

Antioxidants protect you from the free radical damage that causes your body to age. This is how natural anti-aging antioxidants work.

Although oxygen is essential to living, since it contributes to oxidation and the formation of free radicals, oxygen can also be your enemy. For example here's what happens with the oxidation of metals.

-- Iron gets old and rusty,

-- Aluminium gets bleached out,

-- And copper turns an "aged" green.

Something similar happens to your body as it's exposed to air, pollution and poor nutrition. Free radical oxidation damage is the main cause of the aging process of your body (getting old and rusty).

Oxidation and free radicals are as destructive to you as rust and corrosion is to your car. Antioxidants help keep oxidation and free radicals from ravaging your body and sucking the life out of your brain.

The more natural anti-aging antioxidants in your bloodstream, the healthier you'll be. Just think of antioxidants as human "Rust-Oleum!"?

Natural Antioxidants Anti-Aging Foods Sources??

The most important known natural anti-aging antioxidants are vitamins C with bioflavonoids, vitamin E with mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols, the mineral selenium and carotenoids (see the list below).?

When the Human Nutrition Research Center at Tufts University measured the anti-aging antioxidant protection power of different foods, colorful carotenoid rich fruits and vegetables were at the top of the list.

Of the over 600 carotenoids known, only about a dozen have been shown to be highly beneficial to humans. Here are the 7 most important:

-- Lutein,

-- Lycopene,

-- Zeaxanthin,

-- Beta-carotene,

-- Alpha-carotene,

-- Gamma-carotene,

-- Beta-cryptoxanthin.

Studies show that people with diets rich in these carotenoids from natural food sources, especially colourful fruits and vegetables, age more slowly, are healthier, live longer and have less degenerative diseases.

But taking isolated or synthetic carotenoid supplements, like synthetic beta-carotene, has been shown to have NO benefits whatsoever.

Actually synthetic vitamin E, or E without the rest of the natural vitamin E family of mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols, is not a good idea either.

How to Get the Best Anti-Aging Antioxidants Benefits

When looking for natural antioxidants anti-aging supplements, ask yourself, "Can I find these ingredients at a fruit and vegetable stand or salad bar?"

If the answer comes up "no," keep on looking.

Avoid natural antioxidants with ingredients that are UN-natural to humans. This includes pine bark (pycnogenol), grape seed extract, micro sea algae, noni, mangosteen, gac, gogi, acai berry and alpha lipoic acid.

None of these sources are on the list of recommended antioxidants foods from the Human Nutrition Research Center, Tufts or the USDA.

To get the best antioxidant foods make more choices from the top 10 healthiest foods, the list of vegetables and the list of fruits. And choose only proven natural anti-aging supplements from human food sources.
