Expired noodles: Five year old dies






Kashmir (Kulgam) -- In a shocking incident, five Year old girl died after she and her family members consumed expired Maggie Food stuff in Kulgam district’s Manzgam Aharbal Village last evening.

After watching advertisement of Maggie on television, 5 years old Girl along with her younger brothers decided to eat Maggie and brought a packet a Maggie from her Uncle’s shop. In the evening her mother papered the food stuff and was consumed by the whole family. After consuming the food stuff family members fell unconscious including the son of Shopkeeper, identified as Gulzar Ahmad Check who resides in the same house.

 Deceased girl has been identified as Aabroo D/O Nisar Ahmad Check R/O Manzgam, Noorabad district Kulgam died while 5 of her family members fell unconscious after they consumed expired Maggie food stuff manufactured in 2007. Two children were shifted to G.P Panth Hospital were as the parents of the Children were shifted to SMHS Srinagar after stomach wash at Maternity and Child Care hospital Anantnag.

Referred patients were identified as Nisar  Ahmad Check S/o Abdul Rahman Check,( father of the deceased girl) Mehbooba Banoo (mother of the Gulzar) her 4 years Sister, Shaziba, 3 years old Sahil and her 1 year old Cousin brother identified as Rahil  S/o Gulzar Ahmad Check.

After postpartum, 5 years old girl was buried in her native village by villagers in absence of her family including her parents as they have been referred to Srinagar and are said to be in a critical condition.

Deaths of five year old girl has shocked the whole area of Noorabad constituency and are anguished over the alleged negligence done by the ambulance driver as well as by the market checking agencies for not conducting visits in the area.

Locals said, “See the level of negligence, After this incident took place, we immediately approached local PHC and requested them to provide the ambulance but the driver said that there is no fuel in the vehicle but some people arranged two vehicles and patients were referred.” adding ,that the present Government has failed and is in deep slumber.

It is worth to mention that in rural areas ambulance drivers are demanding money for fuel in extreme conditions also and every time they are making accuse of it. 

“CAPD Department has never visited the area or areas of Noorabad in order to check the market.” Basher Ahmad said, adding only we can see them behind political leaders at every moment as they are the workers of these political leaders.

“Government has failed to secure the basic rights of common people in every corner of state, see government machinery have got dysfunctional at every level. It is difficult for me to understand that what is the reason that agencies who are supposed keep a vigil eye on the market aren’t doing their job.” a final year student, wishing to be not named, said.

He said that the present atmosphere is of materialism and everyone wants to have enough money, so a shopkeeper but to keep market free of expired stuffs is the duty of concerned departments.

Locals also alleged that the local police is taking hafta from the shopkeepers for not conducting market checking in the whole area.

When contacted Chief Medical Officer Kulgam, Dr Ashiq admitted the negligence done by the ambulance driver. “Yes But my doctor arranged private vehicles for them.” He said and dropped the phone before citing accuse of being in an official meeting.
