UFO: Oklahoma witness says object size of a van hovered over her home

A Midwest City, OK, witness reported a large, round, fireball-looking object about the size of a van silently hovering about 100 feet above her home that quickly moved north and disappeared, according to testimony in Case 53810 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness and her family had just returned home and were outside sitting on a porch about 9:30 p.m. on June 29, 2013, when the object was first seen. The witness moved away from family members and walked into the street to look at the stars.

"I turned back toward my house," the witness stated. "I was facing east when I noticed a very dim looking, large, round fireball looking thing. The only way to describe the color is it was on fire, without any flame or smoke. It was directly over my house, about 100 feet up. It appeared to be about the size of a big van."

The witness noticed something else odd about the object.

"I couldn't tell the exact shape because it was blurred or morphing like."

The witness called to a friend on the porch with family members to look at the object. The two watched the object until it moved away and vanished.

"We watched it for about 30 seconds and then it slowly took off over the houses going north. It made no sound at all. Then about a half mile away, it vanishes. Either it blinked out or took off so fast I couldn't see it. I know for a fact it wasn't a helicopter or airplane. I live close to Tinker Air Force Base and I am used to low flying aircraft of many different kinds."

Midwest City is a city in Oklahoma County, OK, population 54,371. Tinker Air Force Base sits just south of town and is the headquarters of the Air Force Materiel Command's (AFMC) Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC), the worldwide manager for a wide range of aircraft, engines, missiles, software and avionics and accessories components.

Oklahoma is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating, with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Oklahoma had 3 reports in December 2013 - while California had 68 reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.
